Job Description

The Role
Job Purpose
• Lead strategic marketing initiatives of Novo Cinemas and Gulf Film and hold responsibility for the tactical implementation of plans for corporate marketing, corporate communication and consumer/market research
• Create, implement and measure success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program which will enhance the Organization’s image and position within the market place and the general public while facilitating internal and external communications.
• Oversee and ensure achievement of unit sales targets. Lead the development of policies and procedures for the Department operations as well as ensure they are being adhered to.
• Oversee the movie marketing performance

• Oversee the development and implementation of an effective marketing and corporate communication strategy
• Oversee the marketing and communications department by taking responsibility for the marketing research, internal and external communications
• Design, implement, and establish the annual marketing plan and ensure its implementation
• Establish strategic marketing efforts and share responsibility in overall brand management.
• Participate in development and implementation of the Sales strategic milestones, business plan and business targets.
• Ensure achievement of Department targets thus
• Champion the development of Sales Department policies and procedures as well as drive initiatives targeted to overall unit effectiveness increase.
• Plan and develop the Movie marketing budget based on movie expected releases

• Working with Line Managers and Local and International clients/ partners to develop and sell the Novo Cinemas brand. Project ownership in areas such as launches communications development and implementation, packaging development, and promotions.
• Oversee the delivery of the brand strategy and ensure successful local and international market penetration.
• Oversee the Novo Movie Guide Editorial, Novo Movie Guide Design; Novo Movie Guide Content; Weekly updates of Novo Cinemas Website; Web design for Novo Cinemas website;
• Analyze and evaluate both existing and potential social media activities and strategies.
• Conduct, gather and analyze market research to determine social media opportunities and competitiveness.
• Create, maintain and execute a social media editorial calendar and posting schedule.
• Measure the success of social media activities and reports the results to management. Identify, interpret and capitalize on social media trends.
• Plan, manage, coordinate and execute all social media programs and initiatives.
• Responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined social media strategy in a manner that supports marketing and customer support initiatives while increasing brand equity and online awareness.
• Evaluating, planning, organizing, managing and contributing to all social media channels in an effort to achieve corporate objectives while ensuring a consistent marketing message and strengthening our position in the market.
• Spot checking on publicity materials in Novo Cinemas and other competitive cinemas. The checking consists of (movie listing (posters & photos) trailers list and onscreen ads.
• Maintaining the weekly/ biweekly updates of Novo Cinemas website covering the following sections: advertise and events.
• Develop and manage marketing and branding guidelines
• Coordinate the development and execution of marketing programs
• Ensure effective coordination of all marketing, advertising and promotional efforts and provide guidance for business activities and translates business unit objectives and strategies to develop brand portfolio objectives, strategies and plans to facilitate business unit growth.
• Ensure that relationships with existing clients are well managed and any issues are resolved on a timely manner. Manage overall customer satisfaction and lead development of customer satisfaction related activities.
• Coordinate external communication to ensure consistency of message and images.
• Coordinate internal communication to ensure clarity and consistency of information.
• Ensure that relevant consumer and market research is conducted to generate information relevant for marketing initiatives.
• Oversee the continuous improvement of marketing practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
• Oversee identification of marketing segments and niche, and develop ways to target them
• Oversee overall sales activities to the potential customers and monitor that individual sales targets are met.
• Personally lead sales to key clients to ensure they become Novo Cinemas clients.
• Oversee preparation of proposals for the potential clients ensuring that terms and conditions/ pricing are in line with the approved guidelines. Review personally non-standard agreements.
• Ensure that agreements with the clients are prepared on time and the delivery of services is commenced only after the formal agreements are completed.
• Drive up-selling initiatives to maximize value of the existing clients.
• Incorporate marketing effort into sales activities liaising with Marketing & Corporate Communication
• Initiate and oversee implementation of customer loyalty strengthening programmes to ensure that clients are willing to continue business relationship with Novo Cinemas.
• Oversee preparation and submissions of reports on the Sales Department performance.
• Represents Company in conferences and venues to build business relationships and promote NC.
• Ensure implementation of any standards and policies.
• Liaise with business support functions (Finance, HR, IT and other) to ensure that all the required support services are provided on time and of the required level of quality.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the CEO

• Ensure compliance with the performance management process and its linkages to learning and development, compensation, promotion, career development and succession planning. This is done in full collaboration with the HR function
• Contribute to the people development initiatives within the department.
• Coach and mentor direct subordinates to develop their skills and ensure continuous people development

• Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Corporate Communication or related discipline 
• Professional certification from relevant institutions such as CIM will be an added advantage
• 12-15 years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in middle to top management
• Excellent Communication skills, Arabic being an advantage
